“I did this project because I couldn’t not talk about something that takes up a lot of mental space. What we have chosen to put on stage is the product of our discussions, our experiences, our combined histories, a self-reflexive project in which we explore our condition as independent artists or cultural workers, and laugh at it, and get angry, so as not to cry, so as not to complain, so as to do something with all the anger we have built up inside, or so as not to become cynical, or so as not to fall prey to inertia. It’s an exercise in honesty about what it feels like to be independent or freelancing or freelancing or freelancing in culture.
